Kidswear is a growing industry with an estimated value of £200 billion worldwide, but it has been the high-street retailer that has benefited from it the most.

The designer kidswear market last year was worth an estimated £5billion worldwide on its own and it’s safe to say that this will only increase year on year.

There is also the tween market to be aware of – with the increasing tween and teen population and their heavy use of social media and need to be stylish, the high street retailers are putting a huge amount of time and investment in the design and style of the products available for this age bracket, which mirror the latest trends.

Luxury menswear e-commerce site Mr Porter has recently launched its debut kid’s selection which comprises of 90 products including brands from Orlebar Brown, Ralph Lauren, Harford, Vilebrequin and Frescobol Carioca, all of which have a full range of menswear available on the site.

This trend isn’t just for the high-end retailers, with Boohoo having a specific area for kids’ clothing that mirrors trends available for men and women.

Here is a question for you – is kidswear/youthwear a segment of the market that your brand could take advantage of?
