Designs will vary subject to the fabric and colour but in most cases, the design will come out darker after etching on our range of polyester caps.
Once you have selected one of the available styles of cap and colour options, we will need to convert the logo into a usable file for our Laser Bridge. this is then sent over to the system and plotted on to the front of the cap to make sure the positioning is correct before starting the process.
Once everything is in order the machine will trace the design whilst firing short bursts of high powered but precise beams of laser, which essentially burns a small layer off the cap, leaving the darker logo permanently etched on the hat.
Laser etched badges are available using a Tan PU fabric that is then laser cut to whatever shape you desire, these can then be laser etched in the same way as the direct cap etching, leaving a darker finish to the badge. These badges can be applied to all of our headwear range including beanies.
The process is near identical to that of the directly etched caps, but you have the ability to choose the shape of the PU badge, be it circular, square or an outline of your chosen design. In any case, the design will be converted to work on the Laser Bridge.
The laser will initially plot the logo across a larger pre-cut sheet of the fabric, and then a stitched border will be placed onto the fabric and cap/hat to hold it in place, before laser etching the design and then finally laser cutting using a higher strength setting to cut the badge shape.
We wanted to give you a detailed rundown with respect to SL Black Label's operations during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Our first priority is to protect everyone. Our staff, our customers, and our suppliers. It is vital that we do whatever it takes to keep people safe and well during such a worrying time.
For this reason, we are semi closing down our usual operations on Friday 27th March.
Up to now, we have been operating with a skeleton staff and ensuring that we respect the 2-meter rule. But from Friday, our staff will be at home and not operating within the business, until a period of normality resumes.
From both a health and an economic perspective, these are hard times beyond anything experienced before.
During this time, the directors of the business will be answering the phones and covering the emails of the staff, so we can continue a kind of “business as usual” situation.China Production
If you need larger orders which requires more than one embroidery operative, we will need to consider un-furloughing off one or more of the operatives. However, we will need to consider the current government advice and whether the government are allowing these at the time.
Essentially, we are very well placed to continue to supply while keeping our people safe in this tough environment.
It only leaves us to say – keep well and keep safe. I am sure like you, we cannot wait for the COVID-19 pandemic to subside, allowing us all to return to normal life
